The Who Track 17 on Tommy Tommy’s Mother runs to the mirror and pleads with him, finally she decides to smash the mirror. Thanks to those who made comments at Songfacts that keyed into my search words (AM COVER). Other incredible pieces - Quadrophenia and The Rock. It really shines at the end where the melody is resolved in a very satisfying "upnote" - unlike The Who's version that doesn't end but leads on to a darker melody. Yes, the members of the group were a bunch of snotty little rockers, but there was musical genius there.
